Gant Femme Cuir Agneau Doublés Soie
New to the collection, the Chihira women's leather gloves are dressed in a cascade of ruffles. On the back, finely pleated burgundy leather ruffles flow diagonally from the wrist to the side of the hand, like the jabot of a couture blouse. A line of small pointed topstitches marks where they begin and adds a graphic touch to the black leather. Crafted from exceptionally supple lambskin, they are lined with silk for a soft feel and light warmth. An elastic set on the inside of the wrist fits the glove closely to the hand, and the touchscreen index finger lets you use your phone without taking them off. Designed by Maison Agnelle, French glovemaker since 1937.
With Chihira, I wanted a glove that dances. The ruffles move with every gesture, catch the light and give the wrist something alive, almost theatrical. I love the contrast between the rigour of the black leather and this abundance of texture, like the sleeve of a romantic blouse peeking out from a very strict coat. I wear it in the evening with a black dress, or by day over a pea coat, for a note of romance fully embraced.
