Description

The Grrr women's mittens let a panther roar on the back of the hand. Its face is crafted in deep black short-haired calfskin, with pricked-up ears, long whiskers cut from strips of leather and two rhinestone eyes that catch the light. The palm, in supple lambskin, ensures a precise grip. On the palm side, a discreet opening lets you slip your fingers out when needed, to answer a message or grab your keys without taking the mitten off. Lined with alpaca, they offer warmth that is both rich and light, held in at the wrist by a ribbed knit cuff. Designed by Maison Agnelle, French glovemaker since 1937.

The designer's opinion

With Grrr, I wanted a mitten with real character. The panther is feline, a little cheeky, and its rhinestone eyes light up at the faintest ray of winter sun. I love the contrast between the enveloping comfort of a mitten and a truly fashion-forward look. The opening on the palm changes everything day to day: I free my fingers for a quick message, then slip straight back into the warmth. I wear it with a black coat and a turtleneck, head to toe in black.

Agnelle: A Timeless Savoir-faire

The Agnelle ateliers were founded in 1937 in Saint-Junien, France’s “City of the Leather Glove”. The same craftsmanship continues to this day there, inscribing and galvanizing the Agnelle name in its time. For three generations, three visionary and determined women have transmitted the same savoir-faire for the production of the world’s most beautiful glove collections.

Agnelle remains to this day a discreet partner to the greatest fashion labels. In 2006, Agnelle was recognized as a “Living Heritage Enterprise" and since 2011, Agnelle is registered in UNESCO’s “Métiers d’Arts Rares.”
