Description

The Shibano women's gloves come to life with a shiba's head on the back of the hand. Its features are drawn in appliquéd leather, its cheeks and forehead in shearling, and its two ears rise above the edge of the glove as if the dog had just pricked them up. The back of the hand and the thumb, in shearling, bring plush softness, while the smooth lambskin palm keeps all its finesse and grip. Lined with silk, they offer a soft feel and light warmth. At the wrist, a slit on the palm side closes with a press stud, finished with a soft edge of shearling. Designed by Maison Agnelle, French glovemaker since 1937.

The designer's opinion

Shibano is the glove that makes me smile every time I take it out of my bag. I love the idea of having a little companion at my fingertips, with its pricked-up ears and its tongue out, always in a good mood. Behind the wink lies all the craft of glovemaking: the leather appliquéd piece by piece, the shearling shaping the fur. I wear it with a pea coat or a puffer jacket, to bring a little joy to grey days.

Agnelle: A Timeless Savoir-faire

The Agnelle ateliers were founded in 1937 in Saint-Junien, France’s “City of the Leather Glove”. The same craftsmanship continues to this day there, inscribing and galvanizing the Agnelle name in its time. For three generations, three visionary and determined women have transmitted the same savoir-faire for the production of the world’s most beautiful glove collections.

Agnelle remains to this day a discreet partner to the greatest fashion labels. In 2006, Agnelle was recognized as a “Living Heritage Enterprise" and since 2011, Agnelle is registered in UNESCO’s “Métiers d’Arts Rares.”
